The Story

In 2004, just prior to the Orange Revolution, Orestes, the main character of the novel, opens an underground café in Lviv (Western Ukraine). He names it Gargle, after the name of a café which existed in the same place in Lviv in 1963. However, that café disappeared in so far unexplained circumstances just a year after its opening. The only remainder of it is a Book of complaints and compliments, which contains two autobiographical stories. Orestes and his friend set out on a dangerous search for the authors of the stories in the Book of complaints and compliments, while in the same time Orestes is trying to solve the mysterious disappearance of the café in 1963.
